Irene Martisek Bartusiak

Irene Martisek Bartusiak, 91, retired medical stenographer, died Thursday, June 7, 2018 at her residence at Creekside at Three Rivers Assisted Living in Murfreesboro.Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 2:00 P.M. at St. Catherine Catholic Church with Father Davis Chackaleckel officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the church. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.Born October 7, 1926 in Evergreen Park, Illinois, she was the daughter of the late Nick Martisek and the late Anna Kaston Martisek. She married Walter J. Bartusiak who preceded her in death March 6, 1993. Mrs. Bartusiak was a Gold Star Mother and very active in the American Legion Auxiliary and Maury Regional Medical Center Auxiliary. She was a member of St. Catherine Catholic Church. Survivors include her son, Paul (Alison) Bartusiak of Chicago, Illinois; daughters, Phyllis (Michael) Brizic of St. Johns, Indiana; Kathleen (Jerry) Graves of Rockvale, Tennessee; Michele (Rob) Kornacki of Newnan, Georgia; sister, Eleanor (Joseph) Aklinski of Indiana; eighteen grandchildren; and fifteen great grandchildren. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her son, Stanley Bartusiak; brothers, Tony Martisek; Nick Martisek; and sisters, Mary Addyman; and Stella Gillette.Active pallbearers will be Jerry Graves, David Graves, Danny Graves, Wally Kornacki, Robert Kornacki, Kaston Kornacki, Kurtis Kornacki, Dylan Graves, and Michael Brizic.
