Irma Josephine Totty Durham

Mrs. Irma Josephine Totty Durham, 86, retired employee of Dupont and resident of Morris Avenue, died Tuesday, April 19, 2005, at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:00 P.M. Thursday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Curtis Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Hickman County native was the daughter of the late Willie Cleveland Totty and Sarah Anderson Totty. She was married to Floyd Durham, Jr., who preceded her in death on October 13, 1968. She was a longtime member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include one granddaughter, Carol Reedy of Opelika, Alabama; one great grandson, Casey Reedy of Opelika, Alabama; one brother, Lloyd (June) Totty of Totty's Bend Community; one sister-in-law, Rachel Totty of Totty's Bend Community; several nieces and nephews; and special caregivers, Carolyn Hay and Lucy Speers. She was preceded in death by one son, Floyd Douglas Durham; one sister, Clara Sue Thornsberry; and three brothers, Ewell Totty, Charles Totty, and Cecil Totty. Pallbearers will be Mike Potts, Tom Latham, Tom Bean, Doyce Allen Moore, Doyle Totty, Ronald Loveless, Tony Schires, and Tim Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be retired employees of Dupont.
