View Funeral WebcastIsaac Cleo Griffy, 80, retired truck operator for Union Carbide Corporation, died Sunday, February 8, 2009 at his residence on Brown Road in the Spring Hill Community. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Gene Shelton and Rev. Brian Wiesinger officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to Grace Church of the Nazarene, 2302 Highland Avenue, Columbia 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Williamson County native was the son of the late J. T. Griffy and Rosie Bradford Griffy and a member of Grace Church of the Nazarene. He served in the U. S. Army during the Korean War. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Dorothy Faye Bobo Griffy of Spring Hill; son, Wendell (Patsy) Griffy of Lewisburg; daughters, Debbie (Dan) Walker of Louisville, Kentucky, Nancy (Johnny) Pruitt of Columbia, and Janice (Boo) Barrett of Nashville; daughter-in-law, Janice Lee Myers of Spring Hill; sister, Jean (Bobby) Rochester of Decatur, Alabama; brother, J. B. Griffy of Franklin; 8 grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, Jerry Myers. Active pallbearers are Wendell Griffy, Johnny Pruitt, Boo Barrett, Jeff Myers, Jeremy Myers, and Brian Campbell. Honorary pallbearers include the Adult Senior Class at Grace Church of the Nazarene.
