MR. J.B. ERWIN Mr. J.B. Erwin, 79, former County Commissioner, retired farmer and retired employee of Union Carbide, died Wednesday, August 28, 2002, at his residence on Neely Hollow Road. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. David McGregor officiating. Burial will be in McCains Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 until 8:00 P.M. followed immediately by a Masonic Service at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the son of the late Ethelbert Hamilton Erwin and Elizabeth Moore Erwin. He was a member of McCains Cumberland Presbyterian Church. Survivors include his wife of nearly sixty years, Ruth Dillehay Erwin of Columbia; two daughters, Mrs. Judy (Frank) Watson of Columbia and Mrs. Sherry (David) Graham of Mt. Juliet; one son, Dean Erwin of Lawrenceburg; one brother, Eugene Erwin of Columbia; one sister, Mrs. Mary Margaret Lovell of Columbia; five grandchildren, Mrs. Deanna (John) Cornelius of Belview, Matthew Erwin of Lawrenceburg, Mrs. Julie (Robert) Thompson of Columbia, Mrs. Ashley (Eric) Carnahan of Warner Robins, Georgia, Mrs. Tracy McGlockin of Nashville; two great-grandchildren, Clayton Thompson and Breanna McGlockin; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother Donald Erwin.
