J. L. Nolen Mr. James "J.L." Lloyd Nolen, 96, retired employee of Life of Georgia and resident of Camellia Dr., died Thursday, March 25, 2004 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Jim Collins officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. Mr. Nolen was a native of Morehouse, Missouri. He was first married to Notie O'Daniel Nolen who preceded him in death January 1, 1967. In 1973 he married Esther Borgenson Shaw Nolen who preceded him in death April 10, 1994. He was a member of the Civitan Club and West End Baptist Church. Survivors include two daughters, June Nolen McClure of Cumming, Georgia, Ann Melton (Charles) Hearn of Ft. Smith, Arkansas; one son, James Thomas (Dot) Nolen of Louisville, Kentucky; eight grandchildren, Tara McClure, Deana McClure Goode, Brent (Cathy) McClure all of Cumming, Georgia, Carol (Pat) Valley, of Ft. Smith, Arkansas, Martha (Ron) Colvin of Milledgeville, Georgia, Nancy (Mike) Chance of Pearland, Texas, Dereck (Jackie) Nolen of Kingwood, Texas, Kim (James) Gomez of Broadview Heights, Ohio; and sixteen great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by one grandson, Michael Lloyd McClure. Pallbearers will be Knox Surles, George Brazelton, Kenneth Knox, Brent McClure, Mike Chance and Derek Nolen.
