Mr. J. W. Wadkins, 81, veteran of the U. S. Navy during World War II and later the U. S. Army, died April 8, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital.Graveside services will be conducted Sunday at 1:00 p.m. at Rose Hill Cemetery with Jerry Elder officiating. Oakes & Nichols Funeral Directors are in charge of arrangements.A native of Johnson City, he was the son of the late Thomas Wadkins and Maude D. Farley and attended the Baptist Church.Survivors include a half-sister, Sara (Curtis) Bowden of Columbia; a half-brother, Frank (Dorothy) Farley of Indiana; special friend, Peggy Hamlin; several nieces and nephews.
