Mr. Jack T. Journey, 89, retired claims representative for the Tennessee Department of Employment Security and long-time resident of Trotwood Avenue, died Friday, May 27, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Mr. Ron Eversole officiating. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. Visitation is from 12:00 p.m. to 2:00 p.m. at the funeral home. He was a graduate of Vanderbilit University and served in the U. S. Army during World War II. Mr. Journey was a long-time member of Central Christian Church, Columbia Elks Club, Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19 and National Association of Retired Federal Employees. His wife, Ann Garner Journey, died February 4, 1993. He was also preceded in death by a sister, Freda Journey Kimbrough. He is survived by a niece, Susan Kimm of Chattanooga and a nephew, Stephen Jenkins of Cleveland. Men of the Central Christian Church will serve as pallbearers.
