View Funeral Webcast Jack T. Chism, 90, resident of Columbia, died Tuesday at Maury Regional Medical Center. Graveside services will be held at Polk Memorial Gardens, Thursday, May 21st at 11:00 for family and close family friends. The son of John Burress Chism and Ruby Lorraine Miller Chism. Jack was the 6th of 7 children. His family was very important to him and he loved and cherished them. He married Wynell Edgeworth on August 17, 1948. He graduated from Bowling Green Business College. Then following graduation he enlisted in the Air Force and rose to the rank of 1st. Lieutenant. After completing his military service he pursued a career as a CPA and established his own firms in New Albany, MS and Germantown, TN where he and Nell raised their two children, Debbie and Tom. Upon retirement Jack and Nell moved to Columbia. He has been an active member of the United Methodist Church for most of his life. Serving in leadership roles. Jack was known for his integrity and honor in how he conducted himself in business and life. Jack is survived by his wife of 71 years, Wynell E. Chism; daughter, Deborah C. (Rev. Tony) Brown; son, J. Thomas (Lisa A.) Chism; grandchildren, Wesley C. (Rachel D. Newcomb) Brown, Matthew G. (Miranda G. Brown) Brown, Elizabeth L. Brown, Scott T. Chism, Amanda A. (Bryan A. Hickman) Hickman; great grandchildren, Darian S. Newcomb, Allison L. Newcomb, Lyla J. Brown, Hayden A. Hickman, Emma A. Hickman, Aria K. Hickman; younger Brother, Bobby (Shirley) Chism; and various nieces and nephews.
