Jack Tyler Woody, 25, resident of Cheyenne Trail, died Thursday, April 13, 2017 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Norton and Reverend Tony Brown officiating. Burial will follow in Santa Fe Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 - 7:00 P.M. at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Carter and Liam Woody Trust Fund at First Farmers and Merchant Bank, 816 South Garden Street, Columbia, TN 38401. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born November 11, 1991, in Murfreesboro, Tennessee, he was the son of Gary Michael Woody and Shelli Jayne May Woody. He attended Northfield Trade School, where he studied to be an electrician and worked for IBEW Local 429. Jack loved spending time with his twin boys and was an avid football and basketball fan. Mr. Woody was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. In addition to his parents, Gary and Shelli Woody of Santa Fe, survivors include his wife, Kendra Hanvy Woody of Columbia; twin sons, Carter Woody and Liam Woody both of Columbia; sister, Jessica Paige Woody of Santa Fe; paternal grandmother, Barbara Walters Woody of Columbia; maternal grandmother, Fran May of Little Rock, Arkansas; father-in-law, Kenny Hanvy of Columbia; mother-in-law, Susan Hanvy of Columbia; aunt, Janet (Steve) Dorning of Athens, Alabama; uncle, Don Woody of Santa Fe; and several cousins. He was preceded in death by paternal grandfather, George Woody; and maternal grandfather, Al May. Active pallbearers will be James Fletcher, Cameron McMahan, Austen Dorning, Cameron Dorning, Isaac Dorning, Jonathan Walters, Sam Walters, Dylan Waldrum, Ryan McCanless, and J.T. Caskey.
