Mr. Jackie Ervin James Jackson "Jackie" Ervin, 54, resident of Jackson Heights Road, died Wednesday, April 14, 2004, at Alive Hospice in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted at 11:00 A.M. Saturday at Riverside United Methodist Church with Rev. Ray Newell officiating. Burial will be in Lone Oak Cemetery in Lewisburg. The family will visit with friends Friday from 6:00 - 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home and Saturday after 10:00 A.M. at the church. The Marshall County native was the son of the late Thomas M. Ervin and Flosetta Ellis Ervin Gibson. He attended King's Daughters' School. After the death of his parents, Mr. Ervin remained in Maury County because Columbia had opened its heart to Jackie and his friends with special needs. Jackie enjoyed the courtesies extended to him by the citizens of Columbia and especially by the members of Riverside United Methodist Church . He was a former resident of the Cayce Lane Group Home and had worked at the Impact Center for twenty-five years. He was a member of Riverside United Methodist Church. Survivors include two brothers, Tom Ervin of Nashville; Jerry (Franda) Ervin of Knoxville; two sisters, Mary Lee (Bill) Pappanastos of Cornelius, North Carolina; Jane Ward of Huntsville; nieces, Kim Ervin, Julie Ervin, Patricia Ervin, Lee Ann Sanders, Michelle Ward Kunhart, and Karen Ward; and nephews, Tommy Ward, Mark Ervin, Earnest Pappanastos, and Greg Pappanastos. Pallbearers will be Tom Ervin, Jerry Ervin, Denny Porr, Austin Johnson, Tommy Ward, Jay Lovell, and Earnest Pappanastos. Honorary pallbearers will be past and present employees of the Impact Center and past and present housemates.
