View Video Tribute Jacqueline McClain Sherrill, 78, resident of Ricketts Mills Road in Mt. Pleasant, died Monday, November 5, 2012 at Mt. Pleasant Rehab and Care Center. Graveside services will be conducted Thursday at 12:30 p.m. at McClain Cemetery in Mt. Joy with Rev. Dwight Liles officiating. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 10:00 a.m. until 12:00 noon at Oakes & Nichols. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Willis Martin McClain and Louise Whitworth McClain. She attended Middle Tennessee State University where she earned a Masters degree in English and Biology and an EdD in Physchology. She was employed at Mt. Pleasant High School as Guidance Counselor and was a member of the Baptist church. Survivors include her daughters, Iris Ann Fleenor of Shelbyville, Linda Foster of Columbia; sons, John (Marshon) Tinnon of Shelbyville, Joel Tinnon of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Stan (Patricia) Pyrdum and Brian (Beth) Pyrdum both of Murfreesboro, Carrie (Chris) Padgett of Flat Creek, Jamie (Todd) Green of Shelbyville, Johnny (Angela) Tinnon of Flat Creek, James Foster of Columbia; eleven great-grandchildren; sister, Dottie (Don) Olson of Mt. Pleasant; half-brother, George (Joan) Morris of Pucker, Georgia; and several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a sister, Harriett Walker. Her grandsons and grandsons-in-law, Stan Pyrdum, Brian Pyrdum, James Foster, Johnny Tinnon, Todd Green and Chris Padgett, will serve as pallbearers.
