James Brooks Aldridge Mr. James Brooks Aldridge, 80, resident of Park Drive, died Tuesday, April 12, 2005 at Life Care Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00noon at Graymere church of Christ with John Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends from 10 a.m. until time of service at the church. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Marshall County native was the son of the late Dennis Brooks Aldridge and Maxie Montgomery Aldridge. He was reared in the Verona Community and graduated from Marshall County High School. He was a retired airline pilot with Eastern Airlines where he was employed from 1950 - 1983. Mr. Aldridge was a flight officer in the Army Air Corp during World War II. He was a member of Graymere church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of nearly fifty-nine years, Elizabeth Irene Stockman Aldridge of Columbia; one son, Tony Brooks (Angel) Aldridge of Columbia; one daughter, Ann Aldridge (Jim) Beene of Thompson Station; six grandchildren, Asa Aldridge and Brandon Sisk both of Columbia, Alex Cordell, Adam Cordell, Addiston Cordell, Conner Beene all of Thompson Station; James Michael Stockman, who Mr. and Mrs. Aldridge raised for many years; and several nieces and nephews. Pallbearers will be Sonny Stewart, Jerry Stewart, Gary Follis, Denny Follis, George Stockman and Charles Tate. Honorary pallbearers will be the Tuesday Crew at Columbia Academy and Elders at Graymere church of Christ.
