Mr. James Edward "Tug" Anderson, 76, painting contractor and resident of Hilltop Drive, died Monday, December 27, 2004 at the Veteran's Hospital in Nashville. Funeral services will be conducted at 12:00 noon Thursday, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Wendell Robinson officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Wednesday after 4:00p.m. at the funeral home. The Hickman County native was the son of the late Robert Austin Anderson and Elsie Morrow Anderson. He served in the United States Army stationed in Iceland and was a member of Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. He was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife of 49 years, Reba Lentz Anderson of Columbia; two daughters, Rhonda (Rick)Tinsley and Robin (Jeff) Brooks both of Columbia; a son, Terry (Jade) Anderson of Columbia; one sister, Addie Bell Hay of Nashville; four grandchildren, Adrienne (Michael) Jablonski of Carrboro, North Carolina, Cameron Anderson, Bethany Tinsley and Becky Tinsley all of Columbia. He was preceded in death by three brothers, David "Buddy" Anderson, Robert Anderson, and Joe Ray Anderson. Pallbearers will be Joe Ray Anderson, Jr., Cameron Anderson, Robert Anderson, Jeff Anderson, Charles Hay, David Grooms and Joseph Anderson. Honorary pallbearers will be the Medical Staff at V.A. Medical Center.
