James Blaine Bloss

James Blaine Bloss, 63, retired employee of Occidental Chemical Company, died Monday, November 5, 2018 at his residence on Woodmont Drive. The family will visit with friends Friday from 5:00 – 7:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Parks Avenue, Suite 301, Nashville, TN 37203 or St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis, TN 38105. Born August 23, 1955 in Maricopa County, Arizona, he was the son of Jimmy Bloss and the late Lucy Carolyn Arthur Bloss. He was a 1973 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served in the United States Navy. Blaine enjoyed fishing and riding his motorcycle. In addition to his father, survivors include his daughters, Heather Bloss; and Candace Bloss both of Columbia; step-daughter, Beth Jones of Pulaski; sister, Kay Bloss (Dexter) Shelton of Madison, Alabama; grandchildren Mackenzie Kelley; Bentley Burchell; several nieces, nephews, great nieces, and great nephews; and close friends, Ronnie Tarkington; and Buster Ring. He was preceded in death by his sister, Jamie Renee Bloss; and grandmother, Myrtle Bloss Parrish.
