James Junior Brown, 70, retired welder and machinist for Peffen Machine and resident of Chester Road in Fairview, died Thursday, August 17, 2017 at Westwood Health Care. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 12:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Monte McCandless and Tim McCandless officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. An avid amateur radio operator and woodworker, Mr. Brown enjoyed spending time with his children and grandchildren. He was of Pentecostal faith. Survivors include his wife, Sharon Wright Brown of Fairview; children, Vonnetta Brown (Andrew) Mullins of Linden; Lisa Davis of Columbia; Crystal Black of Lewisburg; Cynthia Olvera; Becky Wolsey; and Thomas Poteete; seventeen grandchildren; thirteen great grandchildren; sisters, Judy Thomas of Hermitage; Wilma Brown of Nashville; two nieces; and one nephew. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his first wife, Lucy Mae Boswell Brown. Active pallbearers will his grandsons. Honorary pallbearers will his grandchildren.
