James Robert Chaney Sr

James Robert "Bob" Chaney, Sr., 79, retired 44-year employee of Union Carbide Corporation and resident of Mayflower Drive, died Tuesday, October 17, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols with John R. Vaughan officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. and Sunday after 12:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Mr. Chaney was a member of Graymere Church of Christ for over 40 years, a member of the Sunday morning Auditorium Class and Wednesday night Singing Class. Survivors include his wife of 57 years, Ann K. Chaney of Columbia; daughter, Patricia Ann "Tricia" (K.B.) Cothran of Columbia; son, James Robert "Jim" (Olga) Chaney, Jr. of Venice, Florida; granddaughters, Ann Marie Cothran (Matt) Schulz of Franklin, Constance Nichole Chaney of Knoxville, Erica Danielle Chaney of St. Louis; grandson, Kernie Benson Cothran of Columbia; sister, Evelyn (A. E.) Carpenter of Columbia; sister-in-law, Sara Blackman of Charleston, South Carolina; brother-in-law, Charlie Frank Kelley of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by 3 brothers, R. C. Chaney, Chester Lee Chaney, and Charles Wilford Chaney. Active pallbearers are James Robert "Jim" Chaney, Jr., Kernie Benson Cothran, John Matthew Schulz, Charles Michael Kelley, Terry Shelby, Hollis Carpenter, Thomas Hughes, Steven L.
