View Funeral Webcast James Edward Creel, 26, resident of Hill Station Road, died Sunday, September 19, 2010 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services for Mr. Creel will be conducted at 2 p.m. Wednesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Steve Swango officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was a 2002 graduate of Columbia Central High School. He had been employed by McDonald's and Wal Mart as a night stocker. James was a member of Loyal Chapel Free Will Baptist Church. He was dearly loved by his family and a host of friends. In addition to his parents he is survived by two brothers, Robert Creel and Eric Creel both of Columbia; grandmother, Duwan Creel of Columbia; and several aunts, uncles and cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, J.C. and Janie Stephens and paternal grandfather Gaston E. (Bud) Creel. Active pallbearers will be Josh Gilliam, Jeff Hill, Chase Patrick, Jordan Howell, Michael Deckard, Nick Hardy, Matt Chaviers and Steven Brumbelow. Honorary pallbearers will be Dr. Quinn and staff in Coronary Care Unit at Maury Regional Hospital and all his friends.
