View Funeral Webcast  James Earl Moore Sr, 89, of Williamsport passed from this place on June 11, 2019 at Maury Regional Hospital after a short illness surrounded by his family.     Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 2:00 P.M. at the Williamsport United Methodist Church with Rev. David Spencer and Rev. Christine Penner officiating. Special music provided by grandson, Matthew Bone.  Burial will follow in the Williamsport Community Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19.  The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4-7 at Oakes and Nichols and 1-2 Friday at the Williamsport United Methodist Church.     The family suggests memorials to Williamsport Cemetery Fund at P.O. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com          Earl was born at the Moore family homeplace on Snow Creek Rd in the Williamsport Community to the late Abner Earl and Lou Willie Chamberlain Moore. He followed in his father’s footsteps as a lifelong farmer with officially retiring this past February. He farmed with his father and brother, Robert (Bob) as the A.E. Moore and Sons and then renamed as the Moore Brothers with a Registered Polled Hereford Breeder herd. He also had an American Farmer Degree through the FFA, Past Chairman of the Maury County Co-Op Board and a member of the Maury County Agricultural Committee. He loved farming and was always ready to lend assistance to any neighbor in times of need with skilled hands, hard work and his knowledge of farming. He was an inspiration to many young farmers by his love of the land and the cattle he raised. He was a life long member of the United Methodist Church where he served his congregation as a Sunday School teacher and member of the choir.       He graduated from Columbia Central High School in the class of 1948.  Mr. Moore served his country as a 2nd Lt in the TN National Guard and later as a Lt. Colonel in the TN Defense Force.  He was a member of the TN Young Farmers and Homemakers Club, Maury Co. Farm Bureau President and member of the Board for 61 years. In 1996, he received a Distinguished Leader Award from the TN Farm Bureau Federation.  He served on the County Planning Commission and the American Polled Hereford Association. He served as the unofficial tractor driver at the Columbia Christmas Parade and Girl Scout hayrides for Troops 1324 and 1794.      He married the love of his life, Frances Alderson Moore on June 7, 1951 and just celebrated his 68th wedding anniversary.  He is also survived by his daughters, Melanie (David) Spencer of Williamsport, Melinda (Wayne) Bone, Mary Frances Moore both of Columbia and son James” Jim” Earl (Phyllis) Moore of Williamsport. 6 Grandchildren, Brittany Bone (Scott) Oliver, Matthew (Rachel) Bone, Emily Bone (Kyle) Brown, Jennifer (Jess) Moore, Andrew Earl Moore and Rebecca Moore.  5 Great Grandchildren, Jonathan Bone, Daniel Oliver, Eliza Grace Bone, Anna Leigh Oliver and Harper Brown.    Sisters in law Reba (Harold) Meador, Pauline Moore Davis and 4 nephews and 2 nieces. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Martha Ann (Ed) Zimmerman and brother Robert Moore.     Active Pallbearers will be Matthew Bone, Andrew Moore, Nicky Meador, Scott Oliver, Eddie Zimmerman, Bob Zimmerman, Daryl Brown and Jim Bratton.  Honorary pallbearers include members of the Williamsport United Methodist Church, Linda Kruckeberg, Harold and Reba Meador, Charles Wrenn and Winston Wrenn     “He was a man. Take him for his all in all. I shall not look upon his like again”
