View Funeral WebcastJames Padgett "Jimmy" Hanson, 64, former resident of Thomas Avenue, died Friday, May 8, 2009 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 3:00 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Gene Shelton officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Hazel Hanson and Elaine Barran Hanson. He was married to Joanne Goad Hanson who preceded him in death on August 23, 2004. Mr. Hanson attended Columbia Military Academy and was a member of the Church of Christ. He had worked as truck driver for the Maury County Solid Waste Department for several years and served as the Recycling Coordinator. Survivors include three sons, Kevin Hanson of Murfreesboro; Jason (B. J.) Hanson of Burns; Phillip (Gigi) Hanson of Jacksonville, North Carolina; one daughter, Leslie Hanson of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Judy Langsdon of Nashville; Sarah Anderson of Columbia ; one brother, Fred Hanson of Hixson; six grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, Larry Hanson. Pallbearers will be Kevin Hanson, Jason Hanson, Phillip Hanson, Cody Pavey, Cameron Hanson, and Jeff Whitefield. Honorary pallbearers will be members of Tennessee Museum of Early Farm Life.
