James Doyle "Jack" LaCroix, 81, resident of Jessitan Lane in Culleoka, died Wednesday, August 31, 2016 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Caroll Jacobs officiating. Burial will follow in Friendship Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born October 5, 1934 in Giles County, he was the son of the late Thomas Edward LaCroix and Myrtle Wiser LaCroix. He served in the United States Air Force from 1957 to 1961. He began his forty plus year career with Southern Propane and worked at the same location through name changes including Petrolane and Amerigas. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed fishing and spending time with his family and friends. He was a great fan of Atlanta Braves baseball. Mr. LaCroix was of Church of Christ faith. Survivors include his wife, Marilyn South LaCroix, whom he married February 25, 1966; daughters, Laura LaCroix of Culleoka, Mandy Goodwin of Culleoka, Erin (David) Tucker of Lewisburg; son, Pat LaCroix of Culleoka; and grandchildren, Lauren Goodwin and Benton Tucker. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Jeff LaCroix; brothers, Tom LaCroix, Bill LaCroix, Bob LaCroix, Dick LaCroix; and sister, Faye Zahnd. Active pallbearers will be family and friends including, John Holt, Cole Goodwin, Dwight Boswell, John Smith, Mark Bailey, and Joseph Parsons.
