James Lewis “Pete” Parks, 78, retired employee of Conway Southern Express in Lewisburg and resident of Duck River, died Thursday, January 17, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Steve Holmes officiating. Burial will be in Pleasant Mount Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. He was a 1958 graduate of Columbia Central High School. Mr. Parks enjoyed dancing and old cars. He was a member of Arkland Church of Christ.Survivors include his sons, Troy (Angie) Parks of Duck River and Tommy (Gina) Parks of Williamsport; grandchildren, Ginean (Bobby) Wilkinson of Lyles, Jennifer Parks of Williamsport, Dalton Parks and Levi Parks, both of Duck River; great grandchildren, Jenna Parks of Williamsport and Austyn Thorton of Lyles; sister, Jo Ann Ashmore of Florida; and his soul mate for the past nine years, Ann Haskin. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters, Dot Craig and Frances Riddle; and brother, Richard Parks. Active pallbearers will be David Craig, Dale Craig, Jeff Parks, Steve Lynn, Roger Riddle, and Jerry Brewer. Honorary pallbearers will include the men of Arkland Church of Christ.
