James William "Jimmy" March, 67, resident of South High Street, died Wednesday, December 27, 2017 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Allen Lancaster officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post #19. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 P.M. until service time at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials be made to the American Cancer Society, P.O. March, Sr. and the late Marjorie J. March. He married Charlotte Lansdown March who preceded him in death March 20, 2002. He was a 1968 graduate of Columbia Central High School and served in the United States Air Force from 1968-1972. Mr. March worked as a brakeman for L&N Railroad for many years and then retired from a local factory. He was of Christian faith. Survivors include his brother, Michael T. March of Nashville, Tennessee; sisters, Catherine M. (Mike) Mast of Gas City, Indiana; Mary Jo McMahan of Culleoka, Tennessee; best friend of many years, Teresa Morton of Columbia, Tennessee; and nieces and nephews, Jeff Mast of Gas City, Indiana; Allison Saathoff of Fairmount, Indiana; Candace Parker of Thompson's Station, Tennessee; and Cameron McMahan of Culleoka, Tennessee. In addition to his parents and wife, he was preceded in death by his brother, Cheairs M. March, Jr.; and sister-in-law, Nancy March. Active pallbearers will be Mike March, Mike Mast, Cameron McMahan, Jamie Fuller, Michael Lancaster, and Allen Fuller. Honorary pallbearer will be Gary Harris.
