Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 2:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Joe Hudson officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery in Marshall County. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 1:00 P.M. - 2:30 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born October 27, 1955, in Dale County, Alabama, he was the son of the late James Cecil Niamon and Frances Vernell Robinson Niamon. He graduated from Jemison High School and attended Jefferson State Community College. He worked for Douglass Mortuary in El Segundo, CA as a funeral director. He was songwriter and a member of BMI, and was a master tech for Gibson Guitar. At one time, he operated Lil Ralph's Pickin Parlor in Leipers Fork and Lewisburg. Mr. Niamon was very talented and capable of playing any stringed instrument and enjoyed wood carving. He was a former Pastor of several Baptist and Pentecostal congregation; including Caney Springs Baptist Church, Belfast Baptist Church, and The Word of Life Church. Survivors include his sister, Jan (Mark) Lassetter of Powder Springs, Georgia; daughters, Kristin Cheek of Columbia, Tosha Grimes and Tonya Bradley both of Hohenwald; grandchildren, Kerstin Coffindaffer and Samantha Bradley both of Hohenwald; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his twin brother, James Randall Niamon.
