View Video TributeView Funeral Service WebcastJames Ray Odom, 66, Corrections Officer with the Middle Tennessee Juvenile Detention Center, died Thursday, December 29, 2011 at his residence on South Main Street. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 3:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Rick Points officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the son of the late Wilburn Odom and Easter Holden Odom. He was a former Mason. Survivors include one daughter, Teresa (Danny) Ragsdale of Columbia; grandson Blake Estes of Columbia; granddaughter, Mercedes Estes of Columbia; granddog, Gizzy; stepson, Doug Royce of Lawrenceburg; brother, Richard (Georgeanne) Odom of Mt. Pleasant; two nephews, Keith (Cynthia) Odom of Summertown; Ray (Wendy) Odom of Mt. Pleasant; close nieces, Gail Manning, Amanda White and Angie (Timmy) Collins, all of Columbia; special sister-in-law, Brenda (Walter) Dugger; and special caregiver, Brenda Adams. He was preceded in death by stepson Jimmy Royce and brother W. L. Odom. Pallbearers will be Walter Dugger, Norman Dugger, Troy Holcomb, Daniel Holcomb, Keith Odom, Mark Dugger, Ray Odom, and Timmy Collins.
