Mr. James Michael "Buddy" Owens, 56, resident of Lynnville, died Thursday, February 17, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with William Owens officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4- 8p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the son of the late William Thomas Owens and Daisy Stofel Owens. On January 19, 1968 he married Freeman Okalene Holcomb Owens who preceded him in death April 12, 1995. He was a carpenter and a member of First Free Will Baptist Church. Survivors include two sons, Bud (Tina) Owens of Pulaski, Thomas Lee Owens of Lynnville; three grandsons, William Andrew Owens, Derrick Wayne Owens, Brent Thomas Owens; three brothers, Robert (Shelby) Owens of Culleoka, Leroy (Ann) Owens of Columbia, William (Billie Jean) Owens of Mt. Pleasant; two sisters, Lucille Vick and Mary (Buddy) Casteel both of Columbia; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by one brother, George Butler Owens and one sister, Christine Parker. Pallbearers will be Dennis Owens, Kenneth Owens, Bobby Parker, David Parker, Danny Ray Owens and William Timothy Owens.
