James Oliver “Jimmy” Pantall, 83, owner and operator of Pantall Farm and resident of Columbia, died Sunday, December 15, 2024 at his residence.
Funeral services will be conducted Sunday, December 22, 2024 at 2:00 PM at Northview Church of Christ with Jeremy Butt officiating. Burial will follow at Lasting Hope Cemetery with military honors provided by the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Saturday, December 21, 2024 from 4:00 PM till 7:00 PM at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home, and on Sunday from 1:00 PM till the time of service at Northview Church of Christ.

Born July 21, 1941 in Williamson County, TN, he was the son of the late Oliver Wilson Pantall and the late Bertie Mae Bolton Pantall. On September 1, 1964, he married Linda Hardison Pantall. Jimmy proudly served his country in the United States Army in Korea and Vietnam. He was a hard worker, retiring from Union Carbide, as the Assistant Depart head of shipping; and being a lifelong farmer, first growing tobacco and then vegetables for the last 20 years and selling them at his roadside stand on the Nashville Highway in Neapolis and at the Columbia Farmers Market. He also enjoyed playing golf in his earlier years. Jimmy was a member of Northview Church of Christ.
In addition to his wife of 60 years, he is survived by sons, Todd (Kim) Pantall of Spring Hill, and Chad (Christi) Pantall of Murfreesboro; sister, Sara Hood of Franklin; brothers, Steve (Mary Jo) Pantall, and Phil (Claire) Pantall, both of Franklin; granddaughter, Brooke Pantall of Spring Hill; and several nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Active pallbearers Shane Pantall, Scott Pantall, Jon Hood, David Hood, Phil Pantall, Grayson Pantall, and Tom Pantall. Honorary pallbearers will include former coworkers of Union Carbide/Graftech, Columbia Farmers Market vendors, special friends Buford Moss and Clyde Harris and family.
