Mr. James Franklin Pratt, 79, resident of Santa Fe Pike, died Monday, January 27, 2003, at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 12:30 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Richard Jones officiating. Burial will be in Knob Creek Cemetery with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The Giles County native was the son of the late James Roy Pratt and Amna Sneed Pratt. He was retired from the City of Columbia Waste Management Department. He served in the United States Army during World War II. He attended the Baptist church. Survivors include two sons, Jimmy (Melissa) Pratt, Eddie (Marie) Pratt both of Columbia; two sisters, Peggy (Billy) Walters, Nell (Jim) Blackburn both of Columbia; two brothers, Charles Robert (Patricia) Pratt, Dean (Clara) Pratt both of Columbia; thirteen grandchildren, sixteen great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a daughter, Patricia Buchanan, who died August 17, 1999 and a sister, Mary Etta Alexander who died December 21, 2002. Pallbearers will be Jim Pratt, Eddie K. Pratt, Scott Cooper, Mike Simpson, Greg Walters, James Pratt, Tony Blackburn and Tommy Carpenter. Honorary pallbearers will be Maury Regional Hospital Coronary Care Unit Nurses, Ed Westmoreland, Alan Faulkner, Larry Chunn, Philip Kennedy, Jason Carpenter, David Gipson, Doug Wright, Dr. Daniel Sarzynski, Dr. Janice Vinson, Dr. Martin Chaney and Dr. George Azar.
