View Funeral Webcast View Video Tribute James Richard Kilgore, 68, retired employee of Calsonic and resident of Chapel Hill, died Friday May 20, 2022 at Vanderbilt Bedford Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home, with Jim Taylor officiating. Burial will follow at Mt. Hope Cemetery in Franklin. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oaksesandnichols.com. Born May 8, 1954 in Macombe County, Michigan, he was the son of Dorothy Marie Dodson and the late Clarence R. Kilgore. He enjoyed gardening, golfing, crossword puzzles, hockey, taking care of his dogs, cooking, mowing grass, Bob Seger music, and most importantly spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Kilgore was a member of the Church of Christ. He is survived by his wife, Janice Russell Kilgore, whom he married July 5, 1997 of Chapel Hill: children, Kenny Kilgore, Jeremy Kilgore, Michael Kilgore, Laura Remke, Lee Anne (Chris) Schwartz: grandchildren, Christopher Schwartz, Soukayna Sabro, Caitlyn Schwartz, Corbin Schwarz: sisters, Debbie (Mike) Martin, Tammy (Kevin) Kadrich: and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Chris Schwartz, Sam Hardison, Chris Martin, Corbin Schwartz, Christopher Schwartz, Zachary Tonkins, and Matthew Russell.
