View Video TributeMr. James Able Rummage, 81, resident of Luther Sharp Road, died Tuesday, July 11, 2006, in Maury County as a result of an automobile accident. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:30 a.m. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Jack White, Greg Gwin and Frank Chumley officiating. Burial will be in Jones Cemetery. The Maury County native was the son of the late Marvin Rummage and Estella Agent Rummage. On October 2, 1942 he married Martha Eugenia Jackson Rummage who preceded him in death April 29, 2004. Mr. Rummage was employed at Union Carbide for twelve years then operated Rummage Texaco for several years. He retired as maintenance supervisor from the Tennessee State Highway Department. He was a member of Collegevue Church of Christ. Survivors include a daughter, Mrs. Betty Carolyn (Billy) Wilson of Murfreesboro; a son, James Larry (Regina) Rummage of Columbia; five grandchildren, Ricky Rummage, Pamela Kay Rummage, Cathy Rummage Campbell, Sondra Kay (Tim) Hartley, Daryl (Kerrie) Wilson; two step-grandchildren, Sherry (Gibran) Naddy, Brian Story; 11 great-grandchildren; and 5 step-great-grandchildren. Pallbearers will be Daryl Wilson, Tim Hartley, Rick Rummage, Andy Jackson, Joel Gwin, Jacob Gwin and Jimmy Callahan. Honorary pallbearers will be Archie Stoltz, Hugh Stacy, Bobby Fox, Alvin Lunn, Ted Ring, Ted Beaver, Gene White, Cromer Jackson, Dale Jackson, Martin Deen, Dr. Gibran Naddy and elders and deacons of Collegevue Church of Christ.
