View Video TributeView Funeral Webcast James Harrison Seaborn, 76, resident of Creek Trail and retired employee of Monsanto and Maury County Highway Department, died Thursday, June 26, 2014 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Carl May officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 3:00 - 7:00 P.M. and Sunday from 1:00 - 2:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be offered online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born October 29, 1937 in Maury County, he was the son of the late John Robert "Bob" Seaborn and Ruth Potts Seaborn. He served in the U. S. Navy and was a member of Berea Church of Christ. Survivors include his wife whom he married May 26, 1962, Elsie White Seaborn of Columbia; son, Tony (Brenda) Seaborn of Columbia; daughter, Amanda (Mike) Gibson of Lynnville; grandchildren, Austin Seaborn of Columbia; Kaitlin Gibson and Ben Gibson, both of Lynnville; sisters, Norma Kenney of Columbia; Kay Wilsford of Sevierville; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by sisters, Bobby Ruth Ellis and Alice Gail Barron. Active pallbearers will be Mark Delk, Eddie Delk, Steve Farris, Austin Seaborn, Ben Gibson, and Junior Hickman. Honorary pallbearers will include the retired employees of Monsanto.
