Mr. James Edward "Sonny" Stewart, 62, resident of Lischey Avenue in Nashville, died Sunday, September 11, 2005 at Vanderbilt Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted at 1:30 p.m., Tuesday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Bob Adair officiating. Burial will be in Rose Hill Cemetery. He was married to Deloris Dormer Stewart who preceded him in death. He had worked as an auto mechanic and bondsman. Mr. Stewart served in the military during the Vietnam War. He attended the Baptist Church. Survivors include one son, Chris (Amber) Jones of Joelton; one daughter, Melissa Stewart of Nashville; two grandchildren, Devin Stewart and Cheven Jones; seven sisters, Idell Dean, Mildred Kelley, Maryann Kelley, Vernell Kelley, Pauline Chadwell all of Columbia, Demorris Palo of Eldora, Iowa, Deloise (Jerry) Love of Culleoka; and two brothers, Danny (Dorothy) Stewart of Nashville and Roger Dale Stewart of Columbia. Pallbearers will be Terry Garrette, Gregg Kelley, Ron Morgan, Harold Kelley, David Osborne and Johnny Clark.
