Mr. James Edward Tosh, 82, self-employed carpenter and cabinet maker, died Wednesday, January 7, 2009 at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 11 a.m. Friday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Rev. Don McCullough officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4 - 8 p.m. at the funeral home. He was married to Helen Louise Kyle Tosh who preceded him in death on January 13, 1997. Mr. Tosh served in the U.S. Army during World War II. He is survived by four sons, Randall E. (Estella) Tosh of Columbia, James T. (Sherlly) Tosh of Chattanooga, Donnie E. (Brenda) Tosh of Culleoka, Mark L. (Beth) Tosh of Mt. Pleasant; four grandsons, Randy (Sharon) Tosh, James T. (Tracy) Tosh, III, Benjamin C. (Jacqui) Tosh, Matthew Tosh; nine granddaughters, Angela T. (Felix) Martin, Tracy (David) Qualls, Wendy Tosh, Stacie R. (Rick) Wilz, Kelly L. Tosh, Amanda S. (John) Sayre, Jennifer L. (Charles) Martin, Maegan Tosh and Bayleigh Tosh; and twenty great-grandchildren. He was preceded in death by a granddaughter, Kristie Tosh; one brother, Alton E. Tosh; and three sisters, Irene Tosh Holder, Kate Tosh Clark and Fannie Tosh Clark. Pallbearers will be Randy Tosh, Matthew Tosh, James Tosh, III, Benjamin Tosh, Joshua Hardison, and Nathan Tosh.
