James R Workman

Jimmy "Bonedaddy" Workman, 60, retired truck driver, left this life on Friday, February 3, 2006, at his home in the Southport Community after a long battle with heart disease. Funeral services will be conducted at 2:30 P.M. Sunday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Pastor Dickey Lindsey and Rev. Homer D. Kelley officiating. Burial will be in Williamsport Baptist Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. and Sunday after 12:00 noon at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com The Maury County native was the son of the late Andrew "Punk" Workman and Maxie Pearl Cummins Workman. He was reared in the Enterprise Community and attended Enterprise School. Mr. Workman retired from truck driving when he became disabled with heart disease. He drove for Cummins Trucking, McCandless Trucking, General Trucking, DANA, OSCO, Duvall Trucking, and retired from Sanders Trucking. He never met a stranger, was well-liked by everyone, and had many trucking friends all over the United States. He attended Ebenezer Community Church. Survivors include his wife, Linda J. Cozart Hedrick Workman of Mt. Pleasant; two daughters, Karen (Jason) McConnell of Hampshire; Amanda Workman Langille of Florida; three sons, Andrew "Andy" (Barbara) Workman and James D. "Jamie" Workman, both of Mt. Pleasant; Joshua Workman Langille of Florida; one stepson, Bobby Hedrick, Jr. of Pulaski; three stepdaughters, Sharon (Henry) Hulshoff of Lewisburg; Candy (Terry) Stewart of Culleoka; Mona Hedrick of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Amber Workman, Shianne McConnell, Jason McConnell, Katie Workman, Lydia Workman, Donovan Langille, Michael Langille; step grandchildren, Brooke Walters, Robert Brooks, Kelley Stewart, Kelsey Stewart, Marissa Malone, great grandchildren, Morgan Walters, Preston Workman and Collin Workman. He was preceded in death by sisters, Bertha Mai Mangrum, Beatrice Roundtree, and brothers, Richard Workman, Monroe Workman, and Marvin Workman. Pallbearers will be Wayne Brunson, Darrell Crain, Eddie McKennon, Ricky Boshers, Howard Mangrum, and G. Michael Workman. Honorary pallbearers will be H. B. Stewart, R. P. Williams, Todd Gilliam, Clay Gilliam, Richard Michael Workman, Raymond Workman, Harvey Seagraves, Dr. William Robinson, and truck driving friends.
