James Ernest Worley, 61, former employee of Tennessee National Guard in Nashville and resident of New Cut Road, died Sunday, November 6, 2016, at Maury Regional Medical Center. A graveside service will be conducted Wednesday at 3:30 P.M. at Pleasant Mount Cemetery with Pastor Derrek Whitten officiating. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 1:00 - 3:00 P.M. at the Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Mr. Worley was previously employed at Pan American Electric Corporation, CONALCO, and various construction companies. He had a great passion for history and enjoyed collecting Civil War memorabilia. A true handyman, he could fix most anything and enjoyed spending a majority of his time working on cars. Survivors include his daughter, Tracy Worley (Tad) Hickman of Columbia; mother, Bettye Worley Malugin of Columbia; brother, Roger Lane Worley of Seffner, Florida; grandchildren, Chase Hickman and Ashton Hickman; and special cousin, Brenda Martin of Columbia. Pallbearers will be Tad Hickman, Chase Hickman, Glenn Pierce, Jim Adkins, Homer Martin, Dwayne Adams, Dr. Jeff Martin, and Danny Davis.
