James Scott Young, 58, owner of Scott Young Construction and resident of Arno Road in Franklin, died Wednesday, July 26, 2017 at Williamson Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Saturday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Chip Hunter officiating. A graveside service will be conducted Saturday at 1:00 P.M. at Christ Church Memorial Gardens in Brentwood, Tennessee. Born October 21, 1958 in Mercer County, New Jersey, he was the son of the late Owen Young and the late Betty Ann Smith Young. An avid car enthusiast, he enjoyed going to car shows, old antique cars, and rebuilding Dodge Challengers. He loved building things, doing trim work, and helping other. Mr. Young was a loving husband, father, and grandfather, who enjoyed spending time with his family.Survivors include his wife, whom he married, April 6, 1979, Vickie Diane Warrick Young of Franklin; daughters, Jennifer Diane Young (Ryan Holloway); Cynthia Diane Young (Travis Bruens) both of Franklin; grandchildren, J.C. Beard; Justin Scott Dishman; Pippa Hope Holloway; Harmony Rage Holloway; Nash James Bruens; sister, Diane (Jerry) Flowers of Lynnville; sister-in-law, Jean Young of Lewisburg; aunts, Eva (Buford) Endsley; Bobbie Woodward; and nieces and nephews, Chris (Stacey) Booker; Brian (Morgan) Flowers; Brandon (Marie) Flowers; Jason Young; Stephanie (Mike) Thomason; and Nichole (John) Allbert. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Serenity Nichole Dishman in May 10, 2013; and brother, Randall Young in May 30, 2017.Active pallbearers will be David Burlason, Ryan Holloway, Loyd Warrick, Travis Bruens, Brian Flowers, Brandon Flowers, Jason Young, and William Burlason.
