View Tribute Video View Funeral Webcast Jamie Anthony “Tony” Harris, 55, resident of Zion Crossings Court, died Friday at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 10:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Joe Bowers officiating. Burial will follow in Goshen Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born December 8, 1964 in Columbia, he was the son of Henry B. Harris and the late Frances Helen Hood Harris. He was a graduate of Santa Fe High School class of 1983 and worked for the Maury County Highway Department and also detailed cars for many years. Mr. Harris was an avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed turkey hunting, deer hunting, sharp shooting, and skeet shooting. Mr. Harris was a member of the Maury County Gun Club and the TWRA. He has had numerous students that he has coached and trained on the art of shooting. He has been featured in magazines, newspapers and television shows and has won numerous awards for being an expert marksman. Tony loved life! He never met a stranger and made friends with everyone he met. As the quote hanging in his house says, “The only disability in life is a bad attitude”; he may have faced many challenges but kept going strong. He never let his disability slow him down or be a handicap to him in any way. He was a friend to all. He is survived by his father, Henry B. Harris of Santa Fe, TN; wife; Debbie Williams Harris of Columbia, TN; sister, Janet Harris (Dennis) Thomason of Santa Fe, TN; nephews, Chase (Sarah) Thomason of Columbia, TN and Trent (Mallory) Thomason of Columbia, TN; niece, Emily Thomason of Santa Fe, TN; great nephews, Henry Thomason and Oliver Thomason; step children, Dr. James Curtis and Heather Curtis Williams both of Florence, AL; step grandchildren, Kimani Harper and Kaizlei Williams; several aunts, uncles, and cousins; and many close friends. Active pallbearers will be Ronnie King, Will Dunnebacke, Chase Thomason, Trent Thomason, Mark Priest, Tim Huckaby, Van Boshers, and Ted Morrow. Honorary pallbearers will be many of his friends, including Marty Moore, Scott Wells, Mark Wells, Edie Schoeberl, Tracy Lovell, Tracy Jones, Mimi Priest, Garrett Mills, Jeff Duvall, Marty Lockhart, Darrell Brown, Allen Hood, Santa Fe High School class of 1983, and employees of the Maury County Highway Department.
