Jane Murphy Horne

Mrs. Jane Murphy Horne, 76, retired from Southern Bell Telephone Company and resident of Morrow Lane, died Saturday, October 29, 2005 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 12:00 Noon at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Jim Gardner and Edward Murphy officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. She was a graduate of Culleoka High School and a member of Craft Memorial United Methodist Church. Mrs. Horne was active in the affairs of the Maury Regional Hospital Auxiliary, was a past Worthy Matron of the Order of the Eastern Star and a member of the Grand Family of the Order of the Eastern Star. She was married November 19, 1948 to George Horne, Jr., who survives. Additionally, she is survived by four nieces, Mary Mathis, Sara Collie, Lonetta Prince and Ann Truelove; a special grand-niece, Linda Harris Brassell; six nephews, Tommy Hill, Edward Murphy, Jim Voss, Buddy Voss, Charlie Murphy and Tommy Murphy; four half-sisters, Mary Bozeman, Margie Boshers, Mae Black and Joyce Senter; two half-brothers, William Fitzgerald and Walter Fitzterald and her special care-giver, Effie Lovett. Active pallbearers are Jim Voss, Buddy Voss, Joe Horne, William Horne, Jeff Harris, Ronnie Harris, Clayton "Duke" Harris and Billy Truelove. Honorary pallbearers include Dr. Lucy Ledbetter, Joel Murphy, Tom Murphy, Charlie Murphy, Jason Voss, Kenny Harris, Wayne Voss, Leon Walters, SuperStars at Maury Regional Hospital and members of the Fellowship Class at Craft Memorial United Methodist Church.
