Janet Talmadge Flynn, 50, former Maury County school teacher and resident of Athenaeum Street, died Wednesday, July 19, 2006, at NHC Hillview. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Saturday at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Father Clare Hendricks officiating. Burial will be in Sparkman Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Friday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Born in Camp LeJeune, North Carolina, she was the daughter of Ralph William and Jewell Christine Witherspoon Talmadge of Murfreesboro. She graduated with honors from Middle Tennessee State University and earned her Masters Degree with honors at Peabody College Vanderbilt University. She had most recently taught at Columbia Central High School. She was a communicant of the Catholic Church. In addition to her parents, she is survived by two sons, Ryan Flynn and Michael Flynn, both of Columbia; one brother, Mark (Tracie) Talmadge of Murfreesboro; two nephews, Garrett Talmadge and Zachary Talmadge; and longtime friend, Katherine Sissi Osborne of Franklin. Pallbearers will be Mark Talmadge, Michael Street, Kevin Street, Greg Street, Eddie Hickman, Bruce Gillen, Mike Devoney, and Patrick Gillen.
