JANIE GREEN Miss Janie Green, 94, former resident of West Fifteenth St., died Tuesday, August 5, 2003 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted at 10:00 A.M. Thursday, at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Curtis Dowdy officiating. Burial will be in Greenwood Cemetery in Giles County. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. until 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Notes of sympathy may be sent to the family at www.oakesandnichols.com. The Giles County native was the daughter of the late Dave and Lena Pratt Green. She had been employed by Tennessee Knitting Mills and in later years was a homemaker and farmer. She was a member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include a niece and nephew, Mary and Walter Martin of Columbia; great-nephew, Dustin Martin of Columbia; great-niece, Karen (Jason) Martin of Columbia; and cousins, Ann Colby, Tom Martin, O.V. Martin, Roy Martin, Bobby Martin, Margaret Hardy, Thelma McCloud, Dorothy Collins and Ostine Hardy. She was preceded in death by one brother, Frank Green. Pallbearers will be Dustin Martin, Jason Martin, Tom Martin, Johnny Collins, Garland Glenn and Jerry Russell. Honorary pallbearers will be nursing staff of NHC Columbia Health Care; members of Highland Church of Christ; friends and neighbors of Greens Mill Road and Double Branch Road.
