View Funeral WebcastMrs. Annie Jean Skinner Cannady, 78, retired Assistant Vice President of the Accounting Department of Tennessee Farms Mutual Insurance Company and resident of Akita Way in Unionville, died Friday, February 12, 2016 at her residence. Funeral services will be conducted Sunday at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Brother Geoff Giesemann and Brother Ed Boggess officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 4:00 - 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com.The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Jim Tom Skinner and Rosie Hue Scott Skinner. She was valedictorian of Culleoka High School class of 1955 and attended Columbia Business College. In her younger years she played and coached softball. She enjoyed singing, playing the guitar, clogging, and playing cards. She found her greatest joy watching her grandchildren and great grandchild play sports. Mrs. Cannady was a member of Fairlane Church of Christ in Shelbyville and former member of Highland Church of Christ. Survivors include her daughter, Cindy (Steve) Anderson of La Vergne; grandchildren, Charity (Ryan) Eady of Unionville, Joseph Hedrick of Nashville, Jeannie (Jesse) Gordon of Unionville, Sam Haywood of Mt. Pleasant, Chris Faulkner of Murfreesboro, Lindzee Anderson of La Vergne; sisters, Betty (Jerry) Cheek and Audrey Savage both of Culleoka, Kathy Arzadon of Pulaski; brothers, William Skinner of Alabama, John Skinner of Unionville, Larry (Bonnie) Skinner of Dyersburg; sister-in-law, Agnes Skinner of Williamsport; thirteen great grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to her parents she is preceded in death by her daughter, Vickie Leverette; sisters, Daisy Cannady and Marie Skinner; and brothers, Frank Skinner and Tommy Skinner.Active pallbearers will be Sam Haywood, Chris Faulkner, Charles Southern, Adam Southern, Comer Brewer, Don Cannady, and Tim Cannady. Honorary pallbearers include Accounting Department of Tennessee Farmers Mutual and members of Fairlane Church of Christ.
