View Funeral Webcast Lola Emogene "Jean" McMahan Gilliam, 77, resident of Nashville Highway, died Sunday, January 25, 2009 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Wednesday at 3:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Joe Macer and Elmer Lusk officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Tuesday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. The Lawrence County native was the daughter of the late Andrew Franklin McMahan and Ollie Mae Nabors McMahan LeMay and a graduate of Summertown High School. Mrs. Gilliam was executive secretary for Union Carbide Corporation and after her retirement served as secretary for Eastside Church of Christ for eight years. She was member of Eastside Church of Christ and the Thursday Literary Club. Her husband, Hollis E. Gilliam, died June 1, 2006. Survivors include her brother/son, Richard E. (Candy) LeMay of Knoxville; sister, Eunice Helen Cozart of Columbia; daughter, Mona (Ben) Baggett of Nashville; sons, David R. Gilliam and Roger (Gail) Gilliam of Columbia; grandchildren, Richard E. (Mary) LeMay, Jr., Amy LeMay (Aaron) Benjamin, Ben Terrell Baggett, John Austin Baggett, Katherine Gilliam (Tim) O'Toole, Sarah Genevieve Gilliam, David (Becky) Dodson, Patrick Lane (Sarah) Gilliam; great-grandchildren, Elizabeth Jane LeMay, Grace Elizabeth Dodson, Jack Harrison Gilliam; sisters-in-law, Bonnie Anderson McMahan of Mulberry, Florida and Kiyoko Nimento McMahan of Columbia; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by brothers, James Oliver McMahan, Andrew Jackson McMahan, and Bobby Cleve McMahan. Active pallbearers are Richard E.
