View Video Tribute View Funeral Webcast Jean Sands Clark, 83, homemaker and resident of Columbia, died Friday, January 1, 2021 at Traditions of Spring Hill. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 12:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Reverend Jim Norton officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Monday from 10:00 A.M. until service time at the funeral home. The family suggests memorials to Riverside United Methodist Church, or to a charity of one’s choice. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born September 11, 1937 in Giles County, she was the daughter of the late Ruthen Sands and the late Estelle Hickman Sands. On June 14, 1958, she married Donald Ray Clark who preceded her in death September 19, 2003. She was a 1955 graduate of Campbellsville High School. Mrs. Clark was a faithful member of Riverside United Methodist Church, the Jim Hewgley Sunday School Class, United Methodist Women, and was on the kitchen committee for many years. She enjoyed volunteering at Life Care Center and loved to do yard work and gardening. Survivors include her daughter, Letitia Clark (Wayne) Franklin of Columbia; grandchildren, Clark Franklin, and Victoria Franklin both of Columbia; niece, Debbie (Terry) Davis of Columbia; brother-in-law, Charles (Bertha) Clark of Columbia; sisters-in-law, Jean Clark of Columbia; Betty Clark of Williamsport; Sue Clark of Columbia; several nieces and nephews in the Clark family. In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brother, Paul Sands; sisters-in-law, Marguerite Sands and Eleanor Clark; and brothers-in-law, James Clark, Billy Clark and Wilburn Clark Active pallbearers will be Clark Franklin, Robert Wayne Clark, Jeff Helgren, Jeff Foster, Rodney Patterson, Bill Brooks, and Terry Sargent. Honorary pallbearers include Terry Davis, Bobby Sands, Larry Sands, M.T. Potts, Lavon Hooie, and members of the Jim Hewgley Sunday School Class.
