MISS JEAN WOODY Miss Amanda Eugenia "Jean" Woody, 80, retired teacher in the Water Valley, Spring Hill and Burwood communities and a long-time resident of Depot Street in Spring Hill, died Saturday, October 26, 2002 at Heritage Manor. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols. Burial will be in the Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 p.m. until 7:00 p.m. and after 12:00 Noon Tuesday at the funeral home. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Max Alexander Woody, Sr. and Etta Gidcomb Woody. Survivors include two brothers, Max A. (Sarah) Woody, Jr. of Hendersonville and Howard (Jane) Woody of Oak Ridge; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by four sisters, Ruby Boulton, Carrie Gray, Laura May Woody and Pauline Woody; five brothers, Robert L. Woody, Fulton Woody, Billy Woody, James Woody and Herbert Woody. Active pallbearers are Max A. Woody, III, Bobby Gray, Ronnie Gray, Mickey Woody, Johnny Woody, Tommy Boulton and Bob Woody. Honorary pallbearers are Donald Underwood, Charles Hughes, Coo-Coo Marlin, Jack Robertson and Bobby Bradley.
