View Video Tribute Jennie Lee Huckaby Barker, 96, died Wednesday, March 13, 2013. Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 1:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Emily Barker, Rev. Richard VanCleave, and Rev. Dwayne Brown officiating. Burial will follow in the Jones Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Thursday from 4:00 to 8:00 p.m. at the funeral home. Notes of condolence may be extended at oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was the daughter of the late Ulna Witherspoon Huckaby and Roxie Hutcherson Huckaby. She was a long-time member of Rock Springs Baptist Church. She married Gillie Gordon Barker on October 27, 1934. Their forty-four year marriage ended with his death July 12, 1979. Survivors include her daughters, Nila Harmon and Joy Barker of Columbia; son, Larry (Mary) Barker of Muscle Shoals, Alabama; sister, Frances Huckaby Wise of Culleoka; four grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; several nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by a grandson, Timothy Gordon. Active pallbearers are Blair Bigbee, Greg Montgomery, Roger Smith, Kevin Hood, Danny Wise, and Brian Jones. Honorary pallbearers include Arthur Wentzell, Sam Andrews, Tony Hie, Sam Wrather, Edgar Deason, and Dr. Gaylon Harris. The family expresses appreciation to Dr. Gaylon Harris, Caris Healthcare, and all her caregivers for their kindness, care, and attention over the past 13 years.
