Jerald James Schoeberl Jr

August 21, 1961 — March 25, 2006

Jerald James "Jerry" Schoeberl, Jr., 44, well-known horticulturist, owner of Livestrong Landscaping & Irrigation Company and, with his wife, Edie McAdams Schoeberl, formerly owned and operated Columbia Garden Center, died Saturday, March 25, 2006 at Maury Regional Hospital. Funeral services will be conducted Monday at 3:00 p.m. at Graymere Church of Christ with Kirk Brothers officiating. Burial will be in Polk Memorial Gardens. The family will visit with friends Sunday from 3:00 to 8:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols and Monday after 2:00 p.m. at the church. Memorials may be made to the Schoeberl Family Trust at First Farmers & Merchants Bank, 816 South Garden Street, Columbia 38401, St. Jude's Children's Hospital, 501 St. Jude Place, 501 St. Jude Place, Memphis 38105 or Columbia Academy, 1101 West 7th Street, Columbia 38401. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. A native of San Diego, California, he and his family moved to Pulaski to make their home where he graduated from Richland High School. He was earned an associate degree in Plant and Soil Science Management from Columbia State Community College and a bachelor's degree in Agriculture from the University of Tennessee at Martin. While at UT - Martin, he was a member of the Rodeo Team and Alpha Gamma Rho Fraternity. He was a member of Graymere Church of Christ. Jerry shared his horticultural skills with many over the years and his talents and efforts enhanced the beauty of Maury County. He was the loving and devoted husband for 18 years of Edie McAdams Schoeberl of Columbia; dedicated and loving father to his children, Stratton Grace Schoeberl, Isabella Etta Schoeberl and Jerald James "Trace" Schoeberl, III all of Columbia. Additionally, he is survived by mother and father, Grace Elliott Schoeberl and Jerald James "Jim" Schoeberl, Sr. of Pulaski; mother-in-law and father-in-law, Marna Morrow McAdams and Richard K. McAdams, Sr. of Columbia; siblings, Robert Haines of Huntsville, Alabama, Alan (Shirley) Haines of West Palm, Florida, Jean Haines (Ray) Hill of Pulaski, Larry (Brenda) Haines of Snellville, Georgia, Richard (Mitzi) Schoeberl of Washington, D. C. ; sisters-in-law and brothers-in-law, Amy McAdams and Shane Wilson, Julie McAdams and Chris Woods, of Columbia, Richard and Katie McAdams, Jr. of Murfreesboro, Patrick and Selena McAdams of Memphis, Erin Kathleen McAdams of Murfreesboro; several aunts, uncles, nieces and nephews.Active pallbearers are Ted Morrow, Kyle Helton, Robert Shelton, Rick Walters, Robin McFall, Jeremy McCoy, Ron Dinwiddie, James Coleman, A. Manson Morrow, II and Jim Thomas. Honorary pallbearers are Lee Selman, Dr. Gibran Naddy, Dr. B. I.
