PFC Jeremy Ray Allen, 22, attached to the 771st Division of the Tennessee National Guard since November, 2003 and a resident of Phinny Murphy Road in the Culleoka Community, died Saturday at Maury Regional Hospital from injuries sustained in an automobile accident. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 2:00 p.m. at Oakes & Nichols with Rev. Dwain Brown officiating. Burial will be in the Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the 771st Division of the Tennessee National Guard. The family will visit with friends after 3:00 p.m. Sunday and Monday at the funeral home. Memorials may be made to the Payton and Keely Allen Trust Fund, c/o AmSouth Bank, Shadybrook Mall, 884 South James Campbell Boulevard, Columbia. Notes of sympathy may be sent to www.oakesandnichols.com. The Maury County native was a 2000 graduate of Columbia Central High School and currently attending Nashville Auto Diesel College. He attended the Rock Springs Baptist Church. Survivors include his wife, Summer Michelle Wentzel Allen of Culleoka; his mother, Sherry Lynn Baker (Tommy) Underwood of Columbia; his father, Randy (Dawn Skinner) Allen of Columbia; a daughter, Keely Michelle Allen of Culleoka; a son, Payton Alexzander Allen of Culleoka; a sister, Delaney Allen of Columbia; two step-sisters, Jamie (Adam) Brown of Smyrna and Tonya (Michael) Goodloe of Nashville paternal grandmother, Shirley Whitwell Allen of Columbia; mother and father-in-law, Terry and Dennis Wentzel of Columbia; aunts, Brenda Westmoreland of Owens Crossroads, Alabama, Sherrie Malugin of Columbia, Rita Rawdon of Hohenwald, Georgeanna Allen of Columbia; uncles, Rusty Baker, Keith "OOP" Baker and Joey Allen, all of Columbia; several cousins. He was preceded in death by maternal grandparents, Betty Brunson "Granny" Massey and Robert Baker; and paternal grandfather, Howard Allen. Active pallbearers are Jason Schwartz, Paul Bedgood, Clint Uptain, JoJo Allen, Jason Alexander, Justin Wentzel, Rusty Baker, Jaren Atkins, Jake Malugin and Jeff McCord. Honorary pallbearers include members of he 771st Division of the Tennessee National Guard and classmates at Nashville Auto Diesel College.
