Jerrel L. Lovett, 59, retired employee of Maury Regional Medical Center and resident of Westover Drive, died Friday, November 9, 2018 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Tuesday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Charlie Norman and Russ Adcox officiating. Burial will follow in Rose Hill Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Monday from 4:00 – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. An avid outdoorsman, he enjoyed camping, fishing, and spending time with his grandchildren. Mr. Lovett was a member of Maury Hills Church. In addition to his mother, survivors include his wife, whom he married April 27, 1979, Virginia “Gennie” Potts Lovett of Columbia; son, Jason (Jana) Lovett of Columbia; brother, David Lovett of Columbia; grandchildren, Jordan Lovett; Jake Lovett; Jaxten Lovett; niece, Morgan Lovett; nephew, Matt Lovett; special uncle, George (Dot) Horne; sisters-in-law, Carolyn (Carl) Kenemer; Tricia (Joe) Russell; and other nieces and nephews, Kim Workman; Tonya Lewter; Mark Craig; James Morton; and David Sparkman. Active pallbearers will be Justin Bowling, Johnny Lee Frierson, Joe Russell, Jordan Lovett, Matt Lovett, and John Mathis. Honorary pallbearers include Eddie Brooks, Billy Sargent, Virgil White, Bobby Fox, and Wayne Jones.
