Jerry Dwayne Walters, 71, retired employee of Precision Tubular and resident of Mt. Pleasant, died Friday, June 16, 2023 at Maury Regional Medical Center. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday at 11:00 A.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Bobby Smartt officiating. Burial will follow in Arlington Cemetery. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. – 8:00 P.M. at the funeral home. Condolences may be extended online at www.oakesandnichols.com. Born February 24, 1952 in Maury County, he was the son of the late Howard Bliss Walters and the late Catherine Louise Jones Walters. After the passing of his father, he was raised by his late step-father, Homer Vaughn Patterson. He married Linda Sue Isabell Walters who preceded him in death November 5, 2017. An avid outdoorsman, Mr. Walters enjoyed hunting, fishing, and going to flea markets. He was of Baptist faith and was known for having a great relationship with God. Survivors include his daughters, Misty Dawn Skelton (Jesse Parham) of Mt. Pleasant; Candy Ann (Glen) Brewer of Columbia; brothers, Dale Patterson of Columbia; David Keith Patterson of Columbia; sister, Donna Fay McQuillen of Mt. Pleasant; grandchildren, Justin Williams, Zachary Pinkston, Cameron Skelton, Lakota Parham; and several nieces and nephews. Active pallbearers will be Glen Brewer, Zachary Pinkston, Justin Williams, Jesse Parham, Jason Tucker, and Tyler Tucker.
