View Funeral Webcast Jerry Lee Bell, 77, former resident of Columbia and former inspector for Union Carbide, died Friday, September 15, 2023 at Savannah Health Care & Rehab Center in Savannah, Tennessee surrounded by his devoted and loving family. Funeral services will be conducted Thursday, September 21, 2023 at 2:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home with Randy Baxter officiating. Burial will follow in Polk Memorial Gardens with military honors provided by the Tennessee Army National Guard. The family will visit with friends Wednesday from 4:00 P.M. to 8:00 P.M. at Oakes & Nichols Funeral Home. Online condolences may be extended at www.oakesandnichols.com. Jerry was born on November 11, 1945 to the late Harold Lee Bell and the late Sarah Frances Mash Bell and reared in the Hampshire community of Maury County. He served in the United States Army in the 101st Airborne Division during the Vietnam War and recently received his 50 year membership with the Herbert Griffin American Legion Post 19. He had many interests over the years; including farming, hunting, fishing, tractors and going to the river. Survivors include his wife of 40 years, Shirley Mrazek Bell of Savannah; son, Stoney Bell of Savannah; step-daughter, Brandy Miller of Corinth, Mississippi; sister, Debby Bell of Ormond Beach, Florida; two brothers, Wayne Bell of Lewisburg and Virgle Bell of Hampshire; half-sister, Donna Bell Alexander of Lawreneburg; granddaughter, Adalyn Bell; grandson, Maddox Bell; four step grandsons, Tony Tompkins, Garrett Bloom, Tanner Bloom and Kaden Silvino; and several nieces and nephews. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Margaret Staggs; three half siblings, Fred Bell, Danita Andrews and Darlene Marlow. Family and friends will serve as pallbearers.
