Jerry Lewis White, 82, lifelong resident of Maury County, died Wednesday December 25, 2019 at Maury Regional Medical Center. A memorial service will be conducted Saturday December 28, 2019 at 1:00 P.M. at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2800 Trotwood Ave, Columbia, TN 38401 with Reverend Jeff Kane officiating. The family will visit with friends Saturday from 12:00 P.M. – 1:00 P.M. at the church. Born August 10, 1937 in Columbia, he was the son of the late Luke Sumner and Kathleen Richardson White. Mr. White was a graduate of Columbia Central High School Class of 1955. After receiving a Bachelor in engineering degree at Vanderbilt University in 1959, he worked for the Bridge Division of the Tennessee Highway Department before joining his father in the family business L. S. White & Co. where he was co-owner and president and retired in 2006. He was an active member of the Columbia Kiwanis Club for more than 40 years. In retirement, Mr. White enjoyed reading and working long hours in his wood working shop where he made beautiful boxes and walking canes that he loved to give away. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Margaret Dee Andrews White of Columbia, TN; daughter, Kate White Massey (William L) of Columbia, TN; sons, David Sumner White (Susan) of Louisville, KY, Lewis Andrews White (Amy) of Hermitage, TN, Lee Allen White (Lacey) of Albertville, AL; grandchildren, Sara Massey, Crystal Massey, Kyle Massey, Andrew White, Elizabeth White, Emily White, Hayley White, Lee White, and Luke White; great grandchildren, Isaiah Massey, Isabella Shraybman, and Anabelle Shraybman; brother-in-law, Charlie Paul of Nashville, TN; sisters-in-law, Arrena Cheek (Richard) of Memphis, TN and Mary Boyd Stockard of Louisville KY; and many cousins in Richardson and White families. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister Lucy Jane White Paul. In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to the Room in the Inn food pantry at Westminster Presbyterian Church, 2800 Trotwood Ave, Columbia, TN 38401.
